Some brands carry more history than their packaging can hold. J. Rieger & Co. was founded in 1887 in Kansas City and grew into one of the largest whiskey operations in the United States, and then went silent for decades. When it returned, it deserved something beyond a stock bottle shared across the shelf. We developed a fully custom bottle and label system, built from scratch to reflect the weight of its legacy. By revisiting historical references and reinterpreting them through a contemporary lens, the design honors tradition while introducing a sense of present-day clarity.The label architecture was redesigned alongside it, bringing the current expressions into a unified and scalable identity. A Kansas City original, restored to its greatness.
